TORONTO, Ontario – June 3, 2024 – Toyota Canada Inc. (TCI) sold 23,670 vehicles in May 2024, up 8.9% from May 2023.
Toyota division saw May sales of 21,155 units sold, up 13.0% from May 2023.
Lexus division saw May sales of 2,515 units sold, down 16.6% from May 2023.
Electrified vehicles sales represented 38.0% of overall May TCI sales. For the Toyota Division, electrified vehicles sales represented 36.6% of all units sold in May 2024. Electrified vehicles also represented 49.4% of all Lexus Division units sold in May 2024.
A total of 1,586 Zero-Emission Vehicles (ZEV, comprised of EV, PHEV and FCEV) units were among the electrified Toyota and Lexus vehicles sold in May.
Toyota vehicles assembled in Canada in high demand
May sales of the best-selling passenger vehicle in Canada, the Toyota RAV4, hit another monthly record with 7,911 units sold, up 8.9% year over year. Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada-made Lexus RX and NX also saw strong May sales, representing together more than 63% of May Lexus sales.
