Paris, France –September 6, 2024 – Last Friday, Team Toyota athlete Keely Shaw won a bronze medal at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, earning her second Paralympic medal in her career in Para cycling.
Born in the rural town of Midale, Saskatchewan, with a population of only 500, sport and nature were an important part of Keely’s upbringing. Keely was always a competitive athlete and becoming an elite hockey player was her childhood dream. But after a life-changing horse-riding injury left her with limited mobility at the age of 15, she found herself living through an identity crisis. Re-learning her body and changed abilities, Keely regained her power through Para cycling and is determined to change the perception of physical disabilities – all while competing on the global stage.
