Toronto, ON, November 1, 2016 – Lexus is reporting its best month ever for Canadian sales with a 5.9% increase in overall sales and a total of 2,418 units sold. Lexus luxury SUV sales were led by the RX, with 853 units sold, up 30.4% compared to 2015.
Hybrid Sales Continue to Increase
Toyota Canada Inc. (TCI) October hybrid sales continued to grow with a total of 1,418 vehicles sold, up 18.5% compared to last year. Toyota brand hybrid sales were up 15.8% with 1,181 vehicles sold. Hybrid vehicles represented 7.8% of TCI’s total sales for the month.
TCI Overall Sales Track with Industry Decline
Tracking with an overall industry decline, TCI reported a 5.8% decline in overall sales with a total of 18,066 Toyota, Lexus and Scion vehicles sold during the month of October. The Toyota division (including Scion) recorded sales of 15,648 units, down 7.4% compared to 2015, while the Lexus division experienced a 5.9% increase in sales with a total of 2,418 units sold.
