(TORONTO, ONTARIO – February 1, 2018) After a record year of sales in 2017, Toyota Canada Inc. (TCI) marked a best-ever January with 12,060 units sold, up 2.5% from last year.
With achieving a new January record, the Toyota division reported sales of 11,168 units, up 2.8% compared to last year, and the Lexus division reported 1,314 luxury vehicles sold, up 0.1% compared to last year.
Truck sales remain strong
Trucks continued to boost overall TCI sales with a new January record: 8,585 units sold, up 6.8% from 2017. Led by the RAV4, Tacoma and Sienna, Toyota division sold 7,514 trucks and SUVs, up 7.1% compared to last year. The NX, RX and LX led Lexus luxury SUV sales of 1,071 units, up 4.4% compared to last year.
Additional January Sales Highlights
Toyota division hybrid sales of 991 units, up 2% (new January record)
Toyota RAV4 sales of 2,758 units, up 2.4% (new January record)
Toyota Sienna sales of 1,048 units, up 7.5% (new January record)
Toyota Tacoma sales of 1,018, up 24.3% (new January record)
Lexus RX sales of 561 units, up 1.3%
Lexus NX sales of 393 units, up 10.4% (new January record)
Lexus IS sales of 151 units, up 7.9% (new January record)
